Day Trip to Shenandoah National Park

We drove into Shenandoah National Park through the Swift Run Gap entrance, and drove south along the Skyline Drive to the Loft Mountain area, where we took a moderate hike for a bit over an hour.  Here we are setting out.

There were lots of small boulders.

And bigger boulders.

And a great overlook, looking west.

And yet more rocks to climb on.

And a really big boulder.

  1. Wow. We can't believe how much clothes you have on. Your weather must be quite different than ours.

Anyway, the hike looks fun but I wonder how far you got in an hour if the girls stopped to climb on every rock.

    Love, Emily
