Carpet for Magic Carpet

To keep down weeds, and provide a softer landing (if that should happen), we have obtained some used carpeting to go under and around the Magic Carpet play area.

While I was at it, I made the safety bars more level.

Jumping Rabbit Topiary

First, I made the wooden frame.

Then Jane attached chicken wire, and we put it in position, with a stake to hold it. 

Next, Jane will train the ivy, which is around on the ground, to cover the rabbit.  Here is a start.  Clearly, it will take a while to get a real topiary.

Trip to Brevard, NC

We took a weekend trip to Brevard, NC, which is an hour south of Asheville, in the mountains.  We were at the country home of cousin Cathy.  Her three siblings (and all spouses) were there.  One evening a childhood friend of the May's joined us.  The house is on the side of a mountain, with a west-facing porch:

Which has a good view of the golf course in the valley.

Here are the men who were there (Rob, Harry, Walter, me, husband of a childhood friend from Arlington Forest).

Here are the women (Cathy, Claire, Sevinc, Barbara, childhood friend, Jane).

On Sunday, cousin George (George Mayer III) and his wife joined us.  They are in the center.

My 'Pop' was George Mayer I, our common grandfather.
